The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs has urged parents, teachers and other relevant parties to refrain from punishing or subjecting children to mental distress based on their Grade 5 Scholarship Examination results.
The Ministry also called on media organizations and social media users to avoid publishing or sharing content related to examination results that could cause embarrassment, humiliation or psychological distress to children.
The Ministry emphasized that such actions could constitute offences under laws relating to violence against children.
It further warned that maximum legal action will be taken against individuals found engaging in such acts.
