The remains of renowned Sri Lankan model Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana have been taken to a private funeral parlour in Borella, as police continue investigations into her sudden death.
Kumarapathirana, 45, was found unresponsive on a bed at a businessman’s residMrs. ence in Thumbowila, Piliyandala, on August 31. Police said she had travelled to the residence in the early hours of that day after attending an event she had organised in Battaramulla.
A post-mortem examination conducted at the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital returned an open verdict, with no external or internal injuries found on her body. Samples have been sent to the Government Analyst for further examination.
Police investigations are continuing under the direction of the Piliyandala Police, while authorities await further forensic findings to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
