SriLankan Airlines has signed a new interline agreement with Island Aviation Services, operating as Maldivian, allowing passengers to seamlessly connect to 17 domestic destinations across the Maldives under a single electronic ticket.
The partnership enables travellers to book combined journeys on both airlines via Velana International Airport in Malé and Gan International Airport, providing smoother transfers for leisure and business passengers.
By integrating SriLankan Airlines' international network with Maldivian's domestic services, the agreement enhances access to both remote and popular island destinations while creating new opportunities for travel agents, tour operators, corporate clients and individual travellers.
SriLankan Airlines currently operates three daily flights to Malé and two weekly flights to Gan, strengthening its presence in the Maldives and offering convenient onward connections across its global network.
Head of Commercial Dimuthu Tennakoon said the collaboration marks an important milestone in expanding the airline's regional footprint and improving travel convenience by linking its global network with Maldivian's domestic connectivity.
Maldives Manager Nayomi Tennakoon said the partnership provides seamless access to SriLankan Airlines' international network through both Malé and Gan, enabling travellers to explore the diverse Maldivian archipelago on a single itinerary.
SriLankan Airlines said the agreement reflects its strategy of strengthening regional partnerships to enhance connectivity and deliver greater convenience and value to passengers across South Asia. The airline connects travellers to 130 destinations in 63 countries through its direct services and codeshare partnerships, operating an all-Airbus fleet.
