The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today informed Negombo Magistrate Silani Perera that four inmates have been identified as suspects in connection with the recent incident at Negombo Prison.
Following the submission, the Magistrate ordered prison authorities to produce the four suspects before the court later the same day.
The suspects have been identified as Supun Madhusanka, also known as "Heenatiyana Supun", Shane Dilan Silva, Ashan Pranandu, also known as "Kalu Malli", and Samira Sampath, also known as "Baba".
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department.
