The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has decided to maintain the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) at 8.75% following the latest meeting of its Monetary Policy Board held on July 22.
In a statement, the CBSL said the decision was reached after a careful assessment of evolving economic conditions and the outlook for both the domestic and global economies.
The Central Bank noted that the Board considered current macroeconomic developments, inflation trends, and external sector conditions before deciding to keep the policy rate unchanged. The move is aimed at supporting price stability while ensuring the continuation of the country's economic recovery.
