Sri Lanka is experiencing an unprecedented level of scientific and academic collaboration with international partners, according to Deputy Minister Dr. Kaushalya Ariyarathne.

She made these remarks while addressing the Annual Scientific Sessions and Awards Ceremony of the Sri Lanka Pharmaceutical Sciences Association, held alongside its 44th International Conference in Colombo.

The event brought together pharmaceutical scientists, researchers, and professionals from both Sri Lanka and abroad. During the ceremony, participants emphasized strengthening global cooperation in pharmaceutical sciences through the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and strategic agreements between international institutions.

Deputy Minister Dr. Ariyarathne highlighted that Sri Lanka is now receiving a new level of scientific support and engagement from global academic and research communities, which she said was previously unseen. She also noted that such collaborations are expected to enhance research capacity, innovation, and professional development within the country’s pharmaceutical sector.

Distinguished international delegates attended the event, including representatives from the World Pharmaceutical Sciences Association, the Asia Pharmaceutical Sciences Association, and the South Asian Pharmaceutical Sciences community. Senior academics and officials from regional pharmaceutical science organizations also participated, alongside Sri Lankan association leaders and researchers.

The conference concluded with award presentations recognizing outstanding contributions in pharmaceutical research and scientific advancement, further reinforcing Sri Lanka’s commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
