According to the Public Health Inspectors’ Association, a total of 7,215 dansals were inspected under the Poson food safety monitoring programme.
During the inspections, 131 dansals found to have minor shortcomings were allowed to continue operations after being instructed to immediately address the identified issues. However, four soft drink dansals were shut down after inspectors found that the beverages being prepared did not meet the required health and safety standards.
The association said 18,412 Poson dansals had been officially registered this year. It added that inspections will continue today and tomorrow, covering both permanent and temporary food outlets operating in and around Poson festival zones to ensure public health and food safety throughout the festive period.
