The meeting focused on several key areas, including the organization’s support for the government’s “Rebuilding Sri Lanka” programme aimed at assisting communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, measures required to address the anticipated El Niño conditions in the coming months, and potential projects that could be implemented in collaboration with the government’s Clean Sri Lanka initiative.
Representatives of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Merit Organization stated that they plan to carry out a range of humanitarian programmes for people affected by Cyclone Ditwah, particularly in the fields of healthcare, education, cultural activities, and social welfare assistance.
During the discussion, the Presidential Secretary expressed appreciation for the organization’s continued support to Sri Lanka during past natural disasters and thanked the representatives for their commitment to assisting communities impacted by Cyclone Ditwah through various social welfare and relief programmes.
The meeting was also attended by Presidential Additional Secretary S.P.C. Sugeeshwara, Additional Director General of the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat Kapila Senarath, Director (Social Affairs) L.A.S.C. Rajakaruna, Director (Volunteer Services) H.P.S. Shantha, Sri Lanka Care Team Lead Keng Lim, team member Sim Sem Ping, and several other members of the Buddhist Tzu Chi Merit Organization.
