Coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which falls on June 26, a series of special programs has also been organized across all nine provinces of the island to raise awareness and strengthen efforts against drug abuse and trafficking.
The national program was launched on October 30 last year under the patronage of the President at the Sugathadasa Stadium. The initiative aims to protect the younger generation from the dangers of drug abuse and create a safer and more secure society.
Authorities stated that the opening of the new headquarters and media center will further strengthen coordination, public engagement, and nationwide efforts in combating drug-related crimes and promoting drug-free communities
