Sri Lanka has recorded 47,530 dengue infections and 29 dengue-related deaths so far in 2026, according to the latest statistics released by the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).

Health officials said that 13,689 cases were reported during the month of June alone, indicating a continued rise in infections across the country.

The NDCU noted that the Western Province accounts for the majority of cases, contributing 51.9 percent of the total infections reported this year. The Southern Province follows with 16.18 percent of cases.

Authorities have also identified 112 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions as high-risk areas for dengue transmission and are continuing surveillance and control measures in those locations.

District-wise, Colombo has reported the highest number of dengue cases with 9,983 infections, followed by Gampaha with 8,809 cases and Matara with 3,446 cases.

Health officials continue to urge the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and maintain clean surroundings to help curb the spread of the disease.
