Two notorious organized criminals and drug traffickers, identified as 'Modara Chathura'—the brother of fellow gangster 'Modara Nipuna'—and 'Bloemendhal Sankha', have been deported to Sri Lanka. The suspects arrived in the country on Saturday (June 13) night after being arrested and subsequently deported by security forces in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The duo had fled Sri Lanka and were in hiding in Abu Dhabi when they drew the attention of UAE security authorities. They were arrested and imprisoned after officials discovered photos and videos of drones and missiles, used by Iran in Middle Eastern conflicts, stored on their mobile phones. Following their jail term, the UAE authorities deported them back to Sri Lanka.

Upon their arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) immediately took the suspects into custody. After recording extensive statements, 'Modara Chathura' was transferred to the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau in Narahenpita, Colombo, for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, 'Bloemendhal Sankha' remains in the custody of airport CID officials, who are continuing to record his statements regarding their criminal network and activities.
