The Irrigation Department says four spill gates of the Deduru Oya Reservoir have been opened by one foot each due to the prevailing rainy weather conditions.

Accordingly, approximately 2,800 cubic feet of water per second is currently being released into the Deduru Oya.

The Irrigation Department has urged residents living along both banks of the river downstream of the reservoir to remain vigilant and pay close attention to changes in water levels.
