An official delegation from the International Cricket Council has arrived in Sri Lanka to examine the recently appointed Cricket Reform Committee established by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage.

ICC Vice-President Imran Khawaja met with the Sports Minister on Friday to discuss the objectives and intended role of the reform committee amid ongoing efforts to strengthen cricket administration in the country.

According to sources, another ICC representative was scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on May 16. The visiting officials are expected to hold further discussions on Monday with the chairman of the Cricket Reform Committee, Iran Wickramaratne, along with other committee members.

Reports indicate that the ICC delegation is likely to approve the continuation of the committee, but with a limited mandate of three months. The ICC is also expected to recommend convening a general meeting of cricket stakeholders once the committee’s term concludes.

The development comes at a crucial time for Sri Lankan cricket administration, with reform efforts aimed at improving governance, transparency, and institutional stability within the sport.
