Flights between Sri Lanka and Israel, which had been temporarily suspended due to instability in the Middle East region, have now resumed, allowing Sri Lankan workers to once again travel for employment opportunities.

Accordingly, 47 Sri Lankan workers who have secured caregiving jobs in Israel departed this morning (07) on Etihad Airways flight EY 593, according to the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

The group consists of 42 women and 5 men, and represents the 202nd batch of Sri Lankan workers leaving for employment in Israel.

Speaking at the departure event, SLBFE Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe stated that efforts are being made to ensure returning workers are supported in establishing stability in Sri Lanka. He also urged migrant workers to carry out their professional responsibilities diligently, prioritize their health, and manage their earnings wisely.

Authorities noted that the resumption of flights is expected to restore employment mobility for Sri Lankans who had been temporarily affected by regional disruptions.
