Special traffic arrangements will be in place across Colombo during the upcoming official visit of Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Sri Lanka Police announced.

President Muizzu is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from May 3 to May 6.

Authorities stated that traffic plans have been designed to facilitate the smooth movement of the Maldivian President and his delegation during their stay.

On May 3, following his arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, the presidential motorcade is expected to travel along the Katunayake–Colombo Expressway and pass through several key locations in Colombo. These include Orugodawatta Junction, Baseline Road, Borella Junction, D.S. Senanayake Junction, Horton Place, Nelum Pokuna Roundabout, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Library Junction, Flower Road Junction, Liberty Roundabout, St. Michael’s Road, Galle Road, Galle Face Roundabout, and York Street.

Police noted that traffic will be temporarily restricted along these routes while the motorcade is in transit, with vehicles being redirected to alternative roads.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternate routes to minimize delays during the periods of restriction.
