The data reveals that the highest number of tourists arrived from India, the United Kingdom, Russia, China, and Germany, reflecting Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as an international travel destination.
Monthly figures indicate that 277,327 tourists visited in January, followed by 279,328 in February—marking a significant increase compared to the same period in 2025. The upward trend continued into April, with 117,893 arrivals recorded for that month alone.
Experts attribute this growth to improved tourism services, effective promotional campaigns, and increased confidence in safety and security across the country.
With this steady momentum, Sri Lanka’s tourism sector is expected to remain a key contributor to the national economy, with further expansion anticipated in the months ahead.
