The proposed committee will focus on ensuring the effective execution of recommendations put forward by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry as well as the Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security.
The proposal to establish this committee was submitted by the President in his capacity as Minister of Defence. Cabinet has expressed its agreement, emphasizing the importance of a structured and coordinated approach to implementing the findings and recommendations related to the 2019 attacks.
This move is expected to strengthen accountability and enhance national security mechanisms by ensuring that previously identified gaps and concerns are addressed in a systematic manner.
