Police have announced a special traffic management plan in Colombo and surrounding areas on April 19 and 20, in view of the official visit of Indian Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan.

According to authorities, the Vice President is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on the morning of April 19 via Bandaranaike International Airport. Following his arrival, he will travel to Colombo along the Katunayake–Colombo Expressway.

His motorcade is expected to proceed through several roads in Colombo, including Grandpass, Orugodawatta Junction, Baseline Road, Borella Junction, D. S. Senanayake Junction, Horton Place, Nelum Pokuna Roundabout, Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, Public Library Junction, Flower Road, Liberty Roundabout, and Galle Road, before reaching Taj Samudra Hotel.

Police stated that during the movement of the Vice President, traffic along these routes will be temporarily restricted or controlled to ensure security and smooth passage.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and plan their travel in advance to avoid delays. Authorities also request the public to cooperate with traffic officers during the two-day period.
