A 38-year-old suspected organized crime gang member and alleged operative in an international drug trafficking network, Rajapaksha Pathiranage Prabath Madhusanka, also known as “Midigama Chooti,” was brought back to Sri Lanka early today (March 30) by a special team of police officers.

The suspect faces multiple charges across several courts in Sri Lanka, including murder, robbery, illegal possession of firearms, and drug trafficking.

Sri Lankan authorities had previously issued an international Red Notice seeking his arrest. He was reportedly apprehended by Omani security forces while staying at a luxury hotel in Oman.

A team of Sri Lankan police officers traveled to Muscat to escort him back. He arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at approximately 4:27 a.m. on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-437.

Following his arrival, initial statements were recorded, after which arrangements were made to transfer him to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters in Colombo for further investigations.
