US-Israeli strikes hit a petrochemical plant in Iran’s Tabriz and knock out power across parts of Tehran, as Iranian forces target an industrial zone in southern Israel, sparking a fire and fears of a chemical leak.

Kuwait says an Indian worker has been killed in an Iranian attack on a power and desalination plant, as Gulf states report intercepting drones and missiles.

Israel intercepts two drones fired by Yemen’s Houthis, as the UN reports the killing of a peacekeeper in an attack in southern Lebanon.

Foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia meet in Islamabad and say they are committed to paving a path to de-escalation in the US-Israel war.

Saudi Ministry of Defence says it has detected and intercepted five ballistic missiles that were heading towards its Eastern Province.

There seems to be more missile and drone activity that has been going on throughout Sunday and into the early hours of Monday.

The Houthis’ announcement on Saturday that they were entering the conflict has opened up a third front for Israel. Its air defences now have to keep an eye on what comes into its airspace from the south, not just from Hezbollah in the north and from Iranian missile sites to the east.

In the last few hours, the Israeli army said it detected two drones from Yemen and said they were intercepted.

Overall, it has been a busy day, mainly directed at the south. By the end of Sunday, the authorities say they had to deal with around a dozen ballistic missiles coming from Iran. In one of the strikes, a fire broke out at a chemical site.

That was of concern because there was a danger that toxic chemicals were going to spill out and cause harm to people nearby. An alert was raised, and people were told to stay indoors and keep their doors shut, before authorities later declared the area was safe.

But the tit-for-tat attacks against infrastructure in Iran and Israel seem to be escalating, with more and more different targets, including industrial-type targets.
