Minister Nalnda Jayatissa joined the Independence Day Reception of Bangladesh to mark the 55th Anniversary of Independence and the National Day of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

He conveyed the warm wishes of Sri Lanka on behalf of the President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the people of Sri Lanka.

In his remarks, he noted that the birth of Bangladesh reflects resilience, identity, and democratic aspiration. Over the decades, Bangladesh has achieved significant progress through the determination of its people.

He also extended his congratulations to the newly elected government and expressed confidence that relations between our two countries will continue to grow.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh share close ties built on mutual respect and cooperation. Government of Sri Lanka continue to work together in areas such as trade, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

As mark this important occasion, Sri Lanka remains committed to further strengthening our partnership and exploring new areas of cooperation for the benefit of both countries.
