Police seek public help to arrest suspect in Kohuwala murder case

Police have appealed to the public for assistance in locating and arresting a suspect in connection with the হত্য of a Chinese national residing in a housing complex in Kohuwala.

According to police, details about the suspect have been released to the media. Authorities urge anyone with information about the individual to contact the Kohuwala or Mount Lavinia Police stations.

The victim, a Chinese woman, had been living on a rental basis in an apartment on the second floor of the Kent Residence housing complex in Kohuwala. She was fatally attacked with a sharp weapon on the 23rd of this month.

The Mount Lavinia Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau has launched an investigation into the incident.

Police suspect that the perpetrator is a Chinese national believed to be the victim’s former boyfriend. The suspect has been identified as Wang Yuying, born on June 1, 2000. Authorities noted that he has visible injuries on the fingers of his left hand, which have been stitched.

A photograph of the suspect has been released to the media. Police request that anyone with information regarding his whereabouts immediately inform the Officer-in-Charge of the Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau in Mount Lavinia or the Kohuwala Police Station.
