The letter of appointment was formally handed over by the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka, at a ceremony attended by several key dignitaries from the maritime and aviation sectors.
Among those present were Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, Secretary to the Ministry W.W.S. Mangala, former SLPA Chairman Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe (Rtd), SLPA Vice Chairman Eng. Herath M. P. Jayawardhana, and Managing Director Ganaka Hemachandra.
Dr. Dissanayake brings with him extensive experience and leadership in the maritime and logistics sectors, and his appointment is expected to further strengthen the strategic direction of the SLPA. His tenure comes at a pivotal time as Sri Lanka continues to enhance its port infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and position itself as a competitive maritime hub in the region.
