Speaker informed the House today (18) that the appointment was made in accordance with the provisions of Standing Order 106.
Dr. Pannilage has been named to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of MP Anura Karunathilaka from the committee.
The PSC has been mandated to investigate and report on the circumstances surrounding the release of the 323 containers and to submit proposals and recommendations in this regard.
The committee is chaired by Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.
