IMF Chief meets Prime minister to discuss economic stability

A meeting was held today (17) at Temple Trees between Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya.

During the discussion, attention was focused on Sri Lanka’s current economic stability and the government’s ongoing program aimed at further strengthening the country’s financial position. The Prime Minister outlined the measures being implemented to sustain economic recovery and promote long-term growth.

Ms. Georgieva also made special reference to the government’s efforts to manage the economic challenges and damages caused by natural disasters. She commended the present administration for its commitment and dedication in addressing these issues and steering the country toward stability and resilience.
