This year, 451,463 candidates, including 382,249 school candidates and 69,214 private candidates, are scheduled to sit the exams. To ensure smooth coordination, 531 coordination centres and 33 regional assembly centres have been established nationwide.
Authorities confirmed that Police and Armed Forces personnel will provide security at all examination centres throughout the examination period. The Disaster Management Center will also remain on standby to respond to any emergencies.
Special examination facilities have been set up in Ratmalana, Tangalle, Matara, and Chilaw. Dedicated centres are also available at Watareka Suneetha Vidyalaya, Maharagama Apeksha Hospital, and Kaithadi Nuffield Special School to support candidates requiring special assistance.
Candidates are required to present a valid National Identity Card, passport, or driving licence for verification. Strict rules prohibit mobile phones, smart devices, calculators, electronic equipment, notebooks, or any unauthorized materials inside the exam halls.
The Department reminded candidates to arrive at their designated centres at least one hour before each paper and to comply fully with all instructions issued by examination supervisors.
