At the commencement of the meeting, the Chairman informed members that the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilaka, had resigned from the Committee. It was announced that a new member would be appointed in due course.

Several Members of Parliament and Deputy Ministers attended the session, including representatives from the ministries of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, and Energy, as well as other committee members.
