The SLTDA said a total of 317,381 foreign tourists visited the country between 1 January and 4 February. Indian nationals accounted for the largest share of arrivals, with 57,348 visitors, followed by tourists from the United Kingdom (34,724), Russia (30,951), Germany (20,272) and China (16,315).
Tourist arrivals were also reported from several other markets, including France, Australia and the Netherlands, reflecting Sri Lanka’s broad international appeal.
The authority further noted a strong start to February, with 40,054 foreign tourists arriving in the country during the first four days of the month alone.
Tourism officials say the continued growth in arrivals highlights Sri Lanka’s recovery and rising popularity as a travel destination in 2026.
