The program is being implemented jointly by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, and the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, among several other institutions.
Key objectives of the initiative include introducing national standards to formalize and regulate early childhood development centers, and organizing nationwide training programs to enhance the professional skills of early childhood teachers.
As part of the program, specially designed learning tools and resource kits aimed at developing ten identified core values in children were distributed today to 900 early childhood development centers across the island. This distribution was carried out with the support of the Health Promotion Bureau and UNICEF.
The event was attended by Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Paulraj, Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, other invited dignitaries, and a large number of preschool teachers representing early childhood development centers from various parts of the country.
