The main Midnight Christmas Mass in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ was held at St. Mary’s Church in Uswetakeiyawa with great devotion and reverence.
The holy service was presided over by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo, with the participation of clergy members and a large gathering of devotees.

Delivering the Christmas message, the Cardinal emphasized the values of love, peace, compassion, and unity, reminding the faithful of the true meaning of Christmas beyond celebrations. He called upon the public to embrace harmony and goodwill, especially during challenging times.
Special prayers were offered for peace in the country and the world, while strict security arrangements were in place to ensure the safety of worshippers.
Thousands of devotees attended the Midnight Mass, marking the Christmas dawn in an atmosphere of faith, devotion, and spiritual reflection.
