TPC calls tenders for 50 MW solar power plant in Sampur

The Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPC), a joint venture between the Ceylon Electricity Board and India’s NTPC, has invited tenders for the construction of a 50 MW solar power plant at Sampur in the Trincomalee District.

TPC is a 50–50 partnership between the two entities. The project scope includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the solar power plant, along with a battery energy storage system of at least 20 MW/MWh.

According to the tender notice, bids will be accepted until February 18, 2026, and the tenders will be opened on February 19, 2026.

The project is expected to be completed within 21 months from the date of award of the contract.
