Police have deployed additional officers across Colombo city following a shooting incident reported between the Nugegoda and Kohuwala junctions last evening.
According to police, security has been tightened up to the Kelaniya Bridge area as part of efforts to track down a suspect who was reportedly traveling in a three-wheeler.
A 25-year-old man was injured in the incident when an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at around 8:30 p.m. The victim was admitted to Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect and have urged the public to remain vigilant while traveling through the affected areas.
