The Embilipitiya Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to the police constable who was arrested in connection with the alleged assault incident involving Member of Parliament Shantha Padmakumara.
Accordingly, the suspect was released on bail on two surety bonds of Rs. 200,000 each.
The police constable was arrested earlier today (22) by the Embilipitiya Divisional Crimes Division and produced before court on several charges, including criminal intimidation.
Further investigations into the incident are continuing.
