Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka next week, according to official sources.

The primary objective of the visit is to extend India’s support for Sri Lanka’s post-disaster recovery efforts following the recent Ditva cyclone, which caused widespread damage across several areas of the country. During the visit, Dr. Jaishankar is expected to announce a special assistance package aimed at supporting Sri Lanka’s recovery and rehabilitation process.

As part of his engagements, the Indian Foreign Minister will meet President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and hand over a special message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discussions will also focus on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing economic cooperation, and expanding mutual support between the two countries.

The visit underscores India’s continued commitment to assisting Sri Lanka during times of crisis and reinforcing long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
