The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has completed inspections of 1,433 landslide-prone locations across the country, according to Senior Geologist Wasantha Senadheera.
He stated that the NBRO has so far received requests to inspect a total of 10,884 sites identified as vulnerable to landslides, with assessments continuing based on priority and risk levels.
Meanwhile, Senadheera confirmed that the landslide red alert issued for several Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts remains in force, due to ongoing adverse weather conditions.
Residents in high-risk areas have been urged to remain vigilant, follow safety instructions issued by authorities, and evacuate immediately if advised by disaster management officials.
