Flooding was reported along key routes including Galle Main Street, the Galle–Matara main road, Galle–Wakwella road, and the Galle–Baddegama main road. Low-lying areas such as Sarenthukade Junction, Thalapitiya, Thanipolgaha, Dangedara and Beligaha were also affected.
In addition, several roads within the popular tourist attraction, the Galle Fort, were submerged due to the intense downpour.
Motorists and pedestrians experienced severe inconvenience, while authorities urged the public to exercise caution as further showers are expected in the area.
