Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, has emphasized that industrialists seeking loan concessions following disaster-related damages must act with careful understanding and responsibility.
He cautioned that limiting recovery efforts solely to obtaining financial assistance could create further challenges, noting that the belief that industries can be revived merely by accessing funds may lead to long-term problems.
The Central Bank Governor made these remarks while addressing a programme titled “Yali Negitimu” held in Kandy, aimed at revitalizing industrialists in the Central Province who have been affected by recent disasters. He stressed the importance of strategic planning, efficient use of financial support, and sustainable business practices in rebuilding affected industries.
