Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways, Dr. Prasanna Gunasena, stated that the decision was taken with the aim of reducing unnecessary traffic congestion in the area.
Under the new arrangement, vehicles entering the Katunayake Expressway from the Outer Circular Road, as well as those accessing the Outer Circular Road from the Katunayake Expressway, will be allowed to pass through the Kerawalapitiya Interchange without stopping to pay toll charges.
Authorities expect the new system to come into effect within the next few days, providing smoother traffic flow and improved convenience for motorists using the interchange.
