In Parliament, Minister Herath said that UK tourists spend between 154.82 and 263.28 dollars per day, while German visitors spend between 142.27 and 222.82 dollars daily. Russian tourists’ daily spending ranges from 163.84 to 201.95 dollars, Chinese tourists between 155.17 and 190.55 dollars, and Indian tourists between 154.60 and 176.49 dollars.
The Minister noted that Sri Lanka recently revised the daily spend figures following a detailed survey. Tourism is expected to generate close to 3,000 million US dollars for the country by the end of the year.
