A 25-year-old man has died after coming into contact with an illegally installed electric wire in the Utthalapura area of Dehiattakandiya, police said.
The incident occurred early yesterday (19) when the victim was reportedly electrocuted by a wire that had been illegally set up to hunt wild animals. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after admission.
The deceased was identified as a resident of Galenbindunuwewa.
The Dehiattakandiya Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
