Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, Anura Karunathilake, visited the Katunayake Airport premises to meet the management of the Airport and Civil Aviation Services Limited (AASL) and conduct the 2025 year-end progress review.
The meeting, held at the Board of Directors Auditorium of the Katunayake Airport and Civil Aviation Company, was attended by Deputy Minister Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, Secretary to the Ministry W.W.S. Mangala, AASL Chairman Air Chief Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, Airport Chief Manager Aruna Rajapaksa, Director Primal de Silva, and other senior officials from the Ministry.
Minister Karunathilake commended the AASL management and staff for maintaining airport operations efficiently during the disruptions caused by Cyclone Ditva and the resulting floods. He also encouraged all involved to contribute to national recovery efforts following the disaster.
