Indian High Commissioner meets Jeevan Thondaman

Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, met Lanka Workers’ Congress (LWC) General Secretary and Member of Parliament Jeevan Thondaman at the Indian Residence in Colombo.

During the meeting, the two discussed the impact of Cyclone Diṭṭa on Sri Lanka and the humanitarian assistance extended by India in response to the disaster. MP Jeevan Thondaman expressed his gratitude to the Government of India and High Commissioner Jha for the swift support provided to Sri Lanka following the cyclone.

Thondaman also briefed the High Commissioner on the current situation in the upcountry regions, including plantation areas, which were affected by the disaster.

In response, High Commissioner Santosh Jha reaffirmed India’s commitment to continue supporting Sri Lanka’s recovery and restoration efforts.
