EU Delivers Over €2.35 M in Humanitarian Aid to Sri Lanka

Reaffirming the strong partnership between Sri Lanka and the European Union, a humanitarian aid consignment worth over €2.35 million has been delivered to the country to support its ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The assistance includes €500,000 provided through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), along with €1.85 million contributed by partners of the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), including the World Food Programme (WFP) and UNICEF.

The aid package underscores the European Union’s continued commitment to assisting Sri Lanka in addressing humanitarian needs and strengthening resilience during its recovery process.
