According to the NBRO, the warnings will remain in effect until 2:30 a.m. tomorrow (19), and residents in the affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and comply with evacuation instructions issued by local authorities.
In the Kandy District, the warnings apply to the Doluwa, Udadumbara, and Medadumbara Divisional Secretariat Divisions and surrounding areas. In the Nuwara Eliya District, the affected DSDs are Mathurata, Nildandahinna, Hanguranketha, and Walapane.
The NBRO has advised residents in high-risk zones to evacuate to safer locations immediately and to closely follow guidance from disaster management officials as heavy rainfall continues to increase the risk of landslides.
