A supplementary estimate amounting to Rs. 500 billion for the year 2026 will be presented to Parliament tomorrow to restore public life disrupted by the recent disaster situation.
At the request of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Parliament will convene tomorrow and is scheduled to sit again the following day. The decision was taken at the Committee on Parliamentary Business meeting held today, chaired by Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
An adjournment debate focusing on the current condition of the country following calamities caused by adverse weather conditions will be held during tomorrow’s parliamentary session.
The Rs. 500 billion supplementary estimate is scheduled to be debated and approved in Parliament on December 19.
