Indictments to be filed against actress Piumi Hansamali

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court that indictments will be filed against actress and entrepreneur Piumi Hansamali over alleged tax evasion amounting to Rs. 225 million.

The Department stated that the case will be taken up before the Colombo High Court on the instructions of the Attorney General.

Hansamali, who owns and operates Lolia Skin Care, is accused of failing to pay due taxes in connection with her business activities.

Attorney Dinesh Perera, appearing on behalf of the Inland Revenue Department, conveyed this information to court when the matter was taken up on Monday.
