Sri Lanka has received a grant assistance of USD 2.5 million from the Government of Japan to support recovery and reconstruction efforts following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.

The grant was officially handed over today (December 17) by the Ambassador of Japan to Sri Lanka, H.E. Akio Isomata. The assistance is aimed at strengthening Sri Lanka’s post-disaster response and rebuilding initiatives.

In addition to the financial support, Japan has also promptly deployed a Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Medical Team and provided emergency relief supplies to assist affected communities.

The Government expressed its appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for their continued support and solidarity with Sri Lanka during the ongoing recovery process.
