The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a joint proposal by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation and the Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security, and Cooperative Development to process and distribute paddy stocks purchased during the 2025 Yala season.

Under the approved plan, the paddy will be milled by paddy mill owners registered with the Paddy Marketing Board and released to the market through the Lak Sathosa outlets and the cooperative network.

The Paddy Marketing Board had procured the paddy during the last Yala season using Rs. 6,000 million allocated to the Board in 2025, and the stocks are currently stored in the Board’s warehouses.
