Two traders in the Bakamuna and Diyabeduma areas were fined Rs. 100,000 each by the Bakamuna Magistrate’s Court today for selling Keeri Samba rice above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP), the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) said.
The court imposed the fines under regulations designed to prevent overpricing of essential food items, emphasizing strict adherence to pricing rules to protect consumers.
