The Ministry of Education has instructed all government and government-approved private schools, as well as Pirivenas, not to conduct term tests for students in grades 6 to 10 for the third term of the 2025 academic year.
The directive follows the earlier circular ED/09/12/06/05/01 – 2025 issued on December 9, which outlined guidelines for the reopening of schools.
The Ministry said the decision is intended to help schools manage assessments amid the ongoing recovery and adjustment period, ensuring students are not unduly affected during this time.
All principals and relevant school officials have been asked to strictly implement the instructions and adjust academic planning accordingly.
